Join
Organisations may join YETKİM as a home organisation, a service provider, or both.
Types of participation
- Home organisation
- The organisation an end user is affiliated with. It issues and manages users' digital identities and is responsible for authenticating them. It must be connected to ULAKNET and have signed the ULAKNET Usage Policy.
- Service provider
- An organisation offering a web based service that requires authorisation, such as access to a database, online books or a wiki. Organisations not connected to ULAKNET may join as service providers only.
YETKİM is operated under a set of policies. Joining means accepting the YETKİM Federation Policy and its annexes, which define the technical requirements.
Process
Participation agreement
Fill in and sign the YETKİM Participation Agreement and send it to yetkim@ulakbim.gov.tr.
Technical integration
Your IT department contacts us, completes the setup and submits the metadata. See Technical requirements.
Testing
The metadata first goes into the test infrastructure. After checking with test.yetkim.org.tr, the organisation sends its request to join by e-mail.
Production
The metadata is added to the federation and to eduGAIN, and the organisation is added to the list of participants.

What do we need to do to join?
There are two stages: sending the completed participation agreement, and your IT department contacting us to carry out the integration.
Which organisations can join as a home organisation?
Organisations connected to ULAKNET that have signed the ULAKNET Usage Policy. Others may join as service providers only.
Do we need to apply to eduGAIN separately?
No. Once your identity provider's metadata is added to YETKİM it is also sent to eduGAIN and reaches eduGAIN services within one day.
